Happy Halloween!

Thanks for reading everyone, I try my best to help people find movies and other things they'll enjoy. Hopefully next year I can include a wider variety of stuff like video games or something. Here's some stuff I thought might be helpful for Halloween.

Lore Podcast

I don't listen to podcasts very often but I fell in love with Lore. Each episode is about a real-life scary story and the truth behind it. Almost like listening to that show Beyond Belief: Fact or Fiction, only without the fiction. Definitely check this out:

Horror Shorts

There's no shortage of creepypasta and other scary stuff to check out online. Here's a random assortment of shorts:

Selfie from Hell - "A girl's just taking a selfie for her boyfried when something really creepy happens..."

Don't Move - "Set on one fateful night, six friends gather for their monthly 'games night'... and accidentally unleash a demonic force that might tear them - and their friendships - to pieces."

Suckablood - A variation of a German story about The Great Tall Tailor who cuts off a little boys thumbs with a giant pair of scissors for sucking his thumbs.

Lights Out - While it isn't terrifying, this short is effectively creepy. I wish the shorts in horror anthologies nowadays were this effective rather than setting up the punchline to a morbid joke. (I'm looking at you ABCs of Death 2)

The Old Chair - "A young woman gets an old, free chair off of Craigslist"

Bedfellows - "Terror always follows the phone call in the middle of the night..."

Brutal Relax - I have NO idea what the hell is going on but this is feels like a short Troma would make. Stay with it until the end, things get pretty crazy.

Finally, we have the short that was adapted into the 2013 film Mama with an introduction from Guillermo Del Toro.

Ash vs. Evil Dead

Premieres this Sat. Oct. 31 at 9P on Starz!

In Theaters

There seem to be a bunch of fun horror movies out this year for Halloween like Scouts Guide to the Zombie Apocalypse (I've already posted the Red Band trailer here) which hit theaters today. The problem is some of these movies may not be playing at a theater near you, so check your local listings.

Green Inferno - Eli Roth's throwback to Italian cannibal films like Cannibal Holocaust and Canniabl Ferox. This actually came out towards the end of September but it's still listed on Fandango.

Freaks of Nature - Vampires, Zombies, and Aliens? Why not, looks like it'd be good for a laugh at least.

A Christmas Horror Story - Hell yeah! I hate when Halloween hasn't even come yet and everyone is already putting up Christmas decorations. If they want to take our holiday, I say we start invading Christmas! I don't even care if this is good, I feel like watching just because.

There's also Tales of Halloween, a new Halloween-themed horror anthology. I already posted the trailer here but I had trouble finding it at a theater near me. Hopefully you have better luck! Oh, and there's always Paranormal Activity...

Horror Streaming Services

I compared these two services back in August. Some details might've changed but they both still offer free trials. Sign up today and starting enjoying tons of horror movies!

Free Streaming Services

Can't afford to pay for Netflix or the streaming options above? No worries, there are alternatives as long as you don't mind sitting through some ads.

Troma - If you're a fan of this legendary indie studio like I am, check out their YouTube channel where over a hundred of their movies are available to watch for free! Don't forget to like and subscribe!
Paramount Movie Vault - Paramount uploaded hundreds of movies awhile back, check out movies like Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2, The Loved Ones, In Dreams, The Sender, and others for free on YouTube! - Public domain movies, not a bad option if you haven't seen the classics!

If you're putting together a playlist, here are some suggestions to help you out:
