October 2013

Well folks, it's finally that time of year again. Here at the Z-portal, we celebrate Halloween ALL month long. As usual, we're going to divide up the reviews by theme and each theme will have an entire week dedicated to it. There will be new reviews everyday, leading all the way up to Halloween. Here's how it's going to break down this year:

Anthology Week: Horror Anthologies have been making a comeback in recent years. Since 2007's sleeper hit, Trick 'r Treat, horror fans have desperately been awaiting the next big horror anthology. All eyes were on a project titled V/H/S, which was a collaboration between multiple horror directors and dedicated to that beloved video format of yesteryear. After all the buzz this generated online, we've seen a resurgence of horror anthology films lately. So gather 'round the camp fire kiddies, we're gonna tell some scary stories...

Slasher Week: Gore-hounds rejoice! The second week of October will be a celebration of psychopathic killers, spilled guts, and dismembered body parts that will satisfy even the most insatiable of bloodlusts! If you like your movies dripping with gore and viscera, make sure you're here for Slasher Week! Oh, and watch your step... don't trip over all the bodies.

Supernatural Week: For the third week, we're going to explore the bone-chilling world of the supernatural. Bringing you all the metaphysical and paranormal thrills that makes this season so exciting. Remember to keep your eyes and your mind open, some things just can't be explained!

Mixed Horror Week: The last week of October is dedicated to ALL the things that go bump in the night. We dive into our deepest, darkest nightmares to find some of the best (and sometimes the best of the worst) movies to rent for Halloween. Stay close, the horrors have just begun...
