So, it's been awhile since I've updated consistently. I've put out reviews every once in awhile but this blog really used to be my passion. I had the time and the situation was right before. I've since moved down to Southern California and have been busy adjusting to my new life and looking for a job. Not to bore you with too many details, I'm sure some of you may have noticed that I didn't do anything big for last Halloween. (My favorite holiday and a time when my blog is most popular) I apologize to anyone who actually enjoys reading my reviews and came back hoping to find something new. I had a hard time adjusting at first and things were tough for awhile. I kind of fell out of love and out of touch with the movies that I had such a passion for before. Sometimes, you just need someone to share your interests with...
...and sometimes you just need a totally awesome trailer to kick your ass back into high gear!!! Piranha 3DD was such a trailer....
I was instantly reminded of Summer 2010 when the first Piranha 3D movie was released and why I loved these movies so much. They're not supposed to be highly intelligent works of art... it's supposed to be mindless entertainment for those who are looking for something less serious than the world we live in.
I have to say that I'm extremely excited about this movie. Although the previous director will not be returning, he has been replaced with John Gulager along with screen writers Marcus Dunstan and Patrick Melton who collaborated with him on the awesome Feast trilogy. (Writers Dunstan and Melton have also worked together on the last four Saw sequels) The whole part with David Hasselhoff just about had me falling out of my chair. I can already tell that I'm going to love this movie.
With that, I am back in the spirit and ready to catch up on all the movies that I've been missing out on. Another thing that threw the proverbial wrench into the works was the fact that before I found my current job, I had to put my Netflix on hold. That was heartbreaking for me. I felt like an addict whose supply ran dry. But I have to say that I appreciate it more than ever now that I have it back. So at the top of my list are movies like Wrong Turn 3 & 4, [REC] 2, Hostel III, and a slew of Japanese pinku films. So be sure to check back for a ton of new reviews!!!
On the subject of strange goodies from Japan, here are two outrageous Japanese zombie films that I am definitely going to be keeping an eye out for:
also, from the director of RoboGeisha, check out:
ZOMBIE ASS: The Toilet of the Dead
Does it get any better than this?! Yeah, it probably does. But it doesn't get any worse!!!
I know I've been promising that I would get back to writing this blog full time but it's been a lot harder to find the time than I thought. So rather than have readers feel cheated or lied to, I'll just start being more active and it'll be easier to keep those promises once I get back into the groove of things. In the meantime, check back often for new reviews and updates on the wonderfully bizarre world of movies. Also, follow us on Twitter and Facebook to be updated on all the new posts that will be coming soon!
Much love for the people who support this blog and keep it going. You sick bastards are the best.
