Feast (2005)

Feast (USA, 2005) - Color, Director(s): John Gulager
MPAA Rating: R
Approx. 95 min.

Z-rating: 9 out of 10 stars for crude, sexually oriented humor and violence.

A group of people are being terrorized by a pack of mean, hungry, and hypersexual monsters while holed up inside a bar desperately trying to survive. In the beginning 15 minutes or so of this film, it is already established that anything can happen and to expect the unexpected. This is a very original and funny cult horror movie. What makes this movie so great is the awesome dialogue, interesting character development, and the delightfully gross and dark humor. There are about 3 monsters wandering around outside the bar, bumpin nasties and droppin little piles of their young all over the floor. The little ones are faster and more vicious than the big ones. (But just as sexually hyperactive!) This movie is supposedly the result of the third season on a TV show called Project Greenlight, that gives newbie filmmakers a chance to direct a feature film.

Honey Pie is an absolute pleasure to watch.

Nudity: None that I can remember but you do get to see Tully's tits sticking out through her shirt when she's coming downstairs after one of the monsters attacks upstairs.

Gore: GREAT gore. Good splattery effects without being too ridiculous. (The difference between say, A Nightmare on Elm Street and Dead Alive) One funny, oaf-ish looking dork dubbed "Beer Guy", gets vomited on by one of the monsters and slowly rots away as maggots are crawling into every orifice. (The way he's offed in the end is fuckin unforgettable!!)

Awesome: To the max!! This is one of the most original, funny, awesome monster movies I've seen in a long time. Don't look up any trailers for this movie, there are spoilers in all of the trailers I've seen. Just rent it if you haven't seen it and pop it in for a good time!! There are two sequels for this film, I highly suggest renting the entire trilogy and marathon them while laughing your ass off with your friends. Then you can pick the ones you liked the best and put them on if you're throwing a Halloween party.
